“Critical Fashion Walk // Zagreb” will be a group walk in Zagreb, exploring what critical fashion can be through the motion of bodies and thoughts, and to what end it can be articulated, practiced, and possibly acted upon. Conversation will be encouraged throughout the walk, while the group will move together from intervention to intervention through the urban fabric of Zagreb. This walk will be the second installment in the Critical Fashion Walk series – the first took place in Oslo in 2024.
The departure point for this walk is a paper pattern leaflet on “Workwear” produced by the Croatian Institute for Improving Domestic Labour (1960), found amongst the archives of the Centre for Research on Fashion and Clothing (CIMO). Using the main street of Zagreb, Ilica, as the grain of the fabric, the walk will trace the seams of a paper pattern onto the city itself, whereby walking can be understood either as a drafting system or as an act of fabric cutting. This walk stems from a curatorial and research residency Johanna Zanon had at CIMO in Zagreb in January 2026. It is a collaboration between Johanna Zanon and Lea Vene with Maja Arcabic and Marko Miskovic.
This walking project is being realized in partnership with The Walking Multilogue; find more information about the full program here:
