Branko Popović is the new resident of BoSA - Briefing on Soft Arts project. Branko Popović is Co-founder & Artistic Director at FASHIONCLASH and a Lecturer at Institute of Performing Arts Maastricht.
As part of the residency we will screen a selection of FASHIONCLASH fashion films following Q and A with Branko Popović on Thursday 27/8, 6 pm at Zagreb City Museum.
Branko Popović is a multidisciplinary artistic director, curator, and creative entrepreneur working at the intersection of fashion, performing arts, and society. Born in former Yugoslavia in 1983, he immigrated to the Netherlands and settled in Maastricht. As co-director and co-founder of FASHIONCLASH Foundation – an award-winning multimedia showcase and development platform for fashion and fashion culture – he has co-created over 300 projects and events across the Netherlands, Europe, Brazil, China, and South Africa. FASHIONCLASH is widely recognized for supporting emerging talent and fostering dialogue between fashion, science, art, and social innovation. The organization received the Cultuurfonds Innovatieprijs in 2021, recognizing its pioneering role in the cultural sector. The annual FASHIONCLASH Festival in Maastricht, now in its 18th edition (November 2026), stands as one of the organization's most celebrated achievements. From 2005 to 2017, he ran his studio BRANKOPOPOVIC, focusing on menswear, costume design, and performing arts projects. Beyond his artistic practice, Branko has served as advisor and chair at Creative Industries Fund NL and currently sits on the advisory committee for the Council for Culture, advising the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. He lectures at the Institute of Performing Arts Maastricht and other Dutch art academies, runs BRANKOPOPOVICBLOG covering arts, culture and lifestyle, and occasionally contributes to various magazines. Due to his extensive experience in both institutional and grassroots contexts, Branko is regularly invited as a speaker, jury member, and lecturer across the Netherlands and internationally.
