Residency, Karl Joonas Alamaa and Lisette Sivard, 2026

Karl Joonas Alamaa and Lisette Sivard are Estonian artists and designers whose practices span fashion, costume, installation, performance, and research-based art. Both studied at the Estonian Academy of Arts and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp; Sivard has also studied Body Design at FAVU Brno, while Alamaa currently works as a creative researcher with the ArchiVolt research group at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.

Their work explores the individual’s relationship to broader social, political, and historical structures, addressing themes of vulnerability, power, memory, identity, belonging, and everyday forms of resistance. Focusing on narrative fashion and addressing socially sensitive and critical themes, their work is characterised by subtle humour and a friendly sense of absurdity.

They will present their work as part of BOSA project at CIMO, 15/10 7:30 PM.
